First Time’s a Test

Well. WordPress’s default interface does look sleeker than Drupal’s (see, for example my own Drupal blog). Maybe I should get one of these lightweight WYSIWYG editors…

If I had to pick subjects for a blog, I would go for general cranky rants. Like, why should anyone care to read this blog?

Or, is anyone ELSE bugged by the antics of Senator Kent Conrad (D-S.D.), who claims not to have KNOWN that he was receiving preferential treatment for his home loan (see story). I mean, really. The man calls up the FREAKING CEO of Countrywide to apply for a loan—like that’s how we all go about getting a loan from Countrywide. No doubt this Senator didn’t have to sit on hold for 20 minutes, listening to the hold music cycle through its two insipid tunes, only to be told that he was in the WRONG DEPARTMENT ALTOGETHER, at which point rinse and repeat.

And he expects us to believe that he didn’t know he was getting special treatment. I understand this guy was a CPA before he got into politics. He doesn’t KNOW he got an extra point off his loan? Um, don’t you think YOU’D know what the going interest rate was when you went out to borrow a coll million dollars? I think I would.

Hey, Angelo, think you could knock a point or two off MY loan?
